IBTimes – Knicks superstar Amar’e Stoudemire would not say what KG told Melo, but hinted that the comment was harsh.
“It was more just talk,” Stoudemire told ESPN. “More talk more than anything. Words are pretty sharp, so when you say certain things, it gets under your skin and it gets you a little angry. And that happens to the best of us. We’ve got to make sure that we keep our composure and see if we can beat a team like Boston.”
Garnett was mum over what he said to Anthony.
“Listen, heat of the battle, man, guys throw back and forth,” Garnett said, according to ESPN. “He’s trying to get his team to go; I’m trying to get my team to go. Both teams are colliding. Not to mention that it’s the Knicks and the Celtics. Just what it is.”
I can’t stand Kevin Garnett. Never have. He just reminds me of one of those punks who thinks they’re so much tougher than everyone else. And all of the media world just backs him up by saying he’s “an emotional” player. Yeah, he’s emotional. But emotional doesn’t make you call another athlete a “cancer patient”, or refer to another’s wife as “tasting like Honey Nut Cheerios.” Those are bitch moves.
He knows Melo is the Knicks best player. He knows that New York would be lost without Melo. So with that he decided that the best way to defeat New York would be to antagonize Melo. I have nothing against trash talking. Personally, I love it. But you have to draw the line somewhere. Like talking about family, health, and death. Everything else can be fair game. KG has no morals. And his quote to ESPN just confirms that.. ““Listen, heat of the battle, man, guys throw back and forth,” Garnett said, according to ESPN. “He’s trying to get his team to go; I’m trying to get my team to go. Both teams are colliding. Not to mention that it’s the Knicks and the Celtics. Just what it is.”
And say what you want, I firmly believe KG made a comment about Carmelo’s wife, LaLa. Its jus so KG to do something like that. No way Melo acts that aggressive and waits outside the Celtics locker room and team bus because of something minor like telling him he chokes, or that he’s never won the big one. KG saying LaLa tastes like Honey Nut Cheerios is just another example of KG being KG.
