Man Robs A Bank For $1 And A Prison Bid

Yahoo – Police say a man tried to rob a Pennsylvania bank of $1 because he hoped to be sent to a federal prison nearby. A police complaint says 50-year-old regular customer Jeffrey McMullen walked into an AmeriServ bank Friday in Northern Cambria and handed notes to tellers demanding a dollar. The complaint says tellers thought it was a joke. He then spoke with a new accounts employee and repeated he was robbing the bank for a buck. Police say McMullen apparently wanted to be prosecuted federally so he could be taken to a prison in central Pennsylvania. Police could not immediately say why.

This sounds awfully familiar to a story that happened a little over a year ago, where a man said he robbed a bank for a $1 for healthcare in prison. I’m not saying that’s why this guy did it, but who just goes to a bank and hands over a note saying this is a robbery give me $1? I’m not going through all that work for a buck. You can’t even get an item off the McDonald’s Dollar Menu. Nope, you’ll come up 6 cents short. Instead, I’m simply walking into my living room, searching my couch cushions, looking in the washer and dryer, hitting up my car, asking a family member, and if I’m still that desperate for a buck I’ll ask a stranger. But, I will NOT, and I repeat NOT try and rob a bank. This guy is criminally insane, but yet smart enough to realize he needs healthcare for his mental illness. Weird, right?

Ps, This is why we need Obamacare, Romney. Poor people need their doctor appointments and medicine, otherwise they go around robbing banks for 4 quarters, 10 dimes, 20 nickels, or 100 pennies.
